Nia Jax is currently Queen Of The Ring, and WWE will be happy to pretend that she blazed the trail for women by winning the first female tourney. Truthfully, Zelina Vega is that trailblazer, but her stint as 'Queen' didn't really work out. Oh, also, Zelina's tournament was called the "Queen's Crown" instead.

She beat Doudrop (Piper Niven) at Crown Jewel 2021 to seize the cape, crown and sceptre for herself. There's a chance this success was part of an apology from Vince McMahon due to deleting Vega's emotional tribute to her father during a 9/11 episode of SmackDown, but that's just a theory.

It'd add up though, because WWE didn't appear to have any plans for Zelina after she won the crown. If anything, her career went further into the mire due to an unentertaining stint alongside Carmella in one of those thrown-together female tags. Vega did bounce back for one night only vs. Rhea Ripley at Backlash 2023, but memorable moments like that have been fleeting.

The "Queen's Crown" was her banner moment.
