People just don't give Rey Mysterio enough credit, and much of that seems to be less about his work in the ring than it is the way in which he was utilised by WWE, particularly during his maiden world title run in 2006, when many found the allusions to the late Eddie Guerrero to be in poor taste.

That's a debate for another time, but it's unfortunate that anyone would let that cloud their judgement of Mysterio's stellar body of work. If Shawn Michaels was a trailblazer for medium-sized guys in the early-to-mid '90s, then Rey did something similarly special for pint-sized ones a decade later. He brought a style to the mainstream that was completely new, and forged a path that many of those who came after him would tread. Perhaps another WWE run is exactly what is needed to cement his position as an all-time great.
