10 Wrestlers WWE Are Currently Dropping The Ball With

7. Tye Dillinger

Tye Dillinger has wrestled just four televised matches since joining the main roster in April, with his last appearance coming on 21 May. Aiden English and Curt Hawkins have served as his only opponents thus far, and while Tye’s initial squash victories suggested that WWE were setting him up for a solid midcard push, he has now been sidelined for over a month.

His is a classic case of WWE taking a red hot NXT act, promoting them to the main roster, then not having a clue what to do. Dillinger had the brief English feud, but the company haven’t even attempted to get him involved since. It’s too early to call him a main roster write-off, but he’s definitely heading in that direction, and if he stays off television much longer, his act’s novelty is going to start wearing off.

SmackDown’s roster is pretty crowded at the moment, and the brand are having an understandably tough time getting everyone on television. Still, Dillinger’s call-up seems completely pointless at the moment. He has done next to nothing since transitioning from NXT, and the company are letting his popularity rot by keeping him sidelined rather than putting him on television.
