10 Wrestlers WWE Are Currently Dropping The Ball With

6. Luke Harper

Four months after he left The Wyatt Family, Luke Harper’s push has vanished into the abyss. Turning his back on Bray appeared to set him up for a big singles run, and for a while, Luke was drawing some of SmackDown’s loudest pops. He lost to Randy Orton, then to AJ Styles, but his direction felt fresh and exciting, particularly when he was the ‘man in the middle’ during Orton/Wyatt saga.

Shortly after losing to Styles, Harper’s push vanished. He missed a full month of television before returning to SmackDown on 28 March, and losing to Wyatt in a bout with little build, and zero consequences. Luke has since engaged in a brief, two-match feud with Erick Rowan, but put his former tag partner away at Backlash, and the past month has seen him make just a single SD appearance.

WWE have one of the best ‘big men’ in the world in Harper. His size, shocking agility, and brawling ability should make him a star on skill alone, but the company have continually struggled to find a singles role for him. WWE had a fantastic opportunity to mint him as a babyface during the Wyatt Family fallout, but they missed the boat, and a major push now seems unlikely.
