10 Wrestlers WWE BURIED At WrestleMania
4. Asuka (vs Charlotte Flair), WrestleMania 34
Asuka debuted in WWE as part of the NXT brand in late 2015, where she established herself as one of the company's top performers and most dominant champions in recent history. For almost three years "nobody was ready for Asuka", leading to her relinquishing the NXT Women's Championship after 510 days so she could pass on the torch to the rest of the division.
The Japanese star would continue her great form on the main roster, winning the 2018 Royal Rumble match and setting up a match with Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 34. Asuka maintained her undefeated streak from NXT on the main roster, even winning the Mixed Max Challenge series with her partner, The Miz.
Charlotte was the top female superstar in the company at that point and was often positioned as a champion of either the SmackDown or Raw brand. A win over her at WrestleMania would have been an excellent way to immediately create a new final boss in the division through Asuka, but WWE decided that it was time to end her huge undefeated streak.
Asuka has managed to ascend to a perennial championship contender despite the loss, but she could have been a much bigger deal within the women's division had WWE not normalized her at the first opportunity on the main roster.
