10 Wrestlers WWE Have Given Up On In 2020

6. The Forgotten Sons

Jaxson Ryker is not being punished for having different political views to his rostermates. Donald Trump is a WWE Hall-of-Famer. Linda McMahon served on his cabinet, only quitting to head a super PAC for his re-elevation. Unequivocally, WWE isn't going to de-push somebody for supporting the POTUS.

No, Jaxson Ryker is being punished because he used a delicate social situation (through which millions are suffering) to promote a wrestling catchphrase on Twitter, using a figure many see as an antagonist to do so. Objectively, that is dumb as hell. A more stunning example of somebody failing to read the room you will not find: he has the right to express whatever views he wants, but the timing was combative.

The Forgotten Sons have lost their televised presence and a proposed New Day storyline as a result. Wesley Blake and Steve Cutler are catching residual flak despite publically distancing themselves from their stablemate on social media and while they'll likely be fine in the long run, Ryker's locker-room harakiri will be harder to clean up.
