10 Wrestlers WWE Must Sign Before 2018 Ends

5. Davey Boy Smith Jr.

Things didn't pan out well for the son of The British Bulldog in WWE last time.

Working as David Hart Smith, he was a member of The Hart Dynasty with Tyson Kidd and Natalya before WWE tried to turn him into a singles star by... jobbing him out on Superstars. Quite why they believed that was a winning strategy is anyone's guess.

Smith has been vocal about how that WWE run (2006-11) almost killed his passion for pro wrestling, and that may make it a little harder to sell him on a return. Again though, the game has changed. WWE no longer shy away from those who want to take a rugged, wrestling-centric approach, and that may appeal to Smith Jr.

He has the height Vince McMahon adores, the same work ethic as his famous father, a natural story of redemption to tell and the talent to make it all work this time. Think of Smith Jr. as akin to Drew McIntyre, another man scorned by WWE failure and motivated to prove himself.
