6. Davey Richards

Davey Richards has been one of the biggest stars on the independent wrestling scene. An accomplished grappler with title wins in both singles and tag team competition, Richards has been wrestling for about 10 years, and during that decade he has been impressing audience wherever he went with his wide array of submission holds, strikes and impressive power moves. In August of 2013, Richard, along with Eddie Edwards, appeared at an NXT try-out camp, where they were said to have impressed everyone. They even started appearing on a regular basis, under the names Derek Billington and John Cahill, and were collectively known as the American Pitbulls. Soon afterwards, Richards announced that his time on the independent circuit was coming to an end, which fans interpreted as him signing with WWE for a long-term commitment. Unfortunately, that didnt happen, and he went to TNA instead. If WWE signed Richards, whether by himself or alongside his longtime partner Eddie Edwards, he wouldve been a perfect fit for NXT. His experience traveling around the world has given him a sense of adaptability that would allow him to mesh well with almost and wrestler. He wouldve been able to have dream matches with the likes of Sami Zayn, Adrian Neville, and many others. Had he been brought in as part of a tag team, he and Edwards wouldve been an exciting edition to that division in NXT as well. WWE had Richards within their grasp, and he just slipped through their fingers.
