10 Wrestling Clichés That Need To Die

2. All Wrestlers Are Juiced Up

There was a time (in the not-too-distant past) that it could be said with a degree of confidence that the majority of wrestlers were taking body-enhancing substances.

As for how many of them are doing it today, we really don't know - and, for legal reasons, it's probably better that we don't speculate on specific cases. The fact is that WWE, in particular, keeps its cards close to its chest, and will likely tell anyone who asks that their wrestlers are completely clean (and, if they're not, it's news to them).

Outside the wrestling industry, it is not uncommon to meet with the opinion that steroid use therein is endemic, evidence for which can allegedly be found in the often freakish appearances of some of the industry's leading men.

But again, this can't be said with any certainty. WWE got a bloody nose from the well-publicised steroid scandal in the early-1990s, and wrestlers these days are, in many cases, plainly better and more agile athletes than their beefcake Golden Age counterparts.
