Numerous stories about Rick Rude's life and career have painted him as an intense, passionate man who dearly loved performing. Eric Bischoff wouldn't disagree, although the former WCW chief does have a story not many can claim to share. He was kicked out of Rude's funeral by Rick's family in 1999.

First, some back story.

Rude could only wrestle again (something he yearned to do) if he paid off his Lloyd's Of London insurance policy in '99. Stuck for cash, he asked if WCW would be willing to do that for him, but Eric didn't think he could justify that with Turner top brass. So, the pair's relationship deteriorated so badly that Bisch was booted as he was paying his respects.

On his '83 Weeks' pod, Eric recalled standing over Rick's casket and saying a prayer for him before being approached by his sister. She asked him to leave, which embarrassed Bischoff. He didn't want to cause a scene, so he slipped out quietly and couldn't believe what had just happened.
