10 Wrestling Facts We Didn't Know Last Week (July 29)

1. Ric Flair Thought Roman Reigns Should Have Beaten Finn Balor

Undeniably exciting and with a fresh-feel that was long overdue, this past Monday's episode of Raw ended on a high note. Finn Balor, called up from NXT in the WWE Draft, defeated Roman Reigns for the right to face Seth Rollins for the WWE Universal Title at SummerSlam. Consequently, fans on social media went crazy.

As mentioned during the intro to this piece, not everybody felt it was best for business. On his own podcast, 'Nature Boy' Ric Flair remarked that he would have booked Reigns to beat Balor, simply because he is a huge fan of Roman's work and believes him to be the complete package.

Going further, Flair also said he has more interest in seeing Dolph Ziggler face Dean Ambrose at SummerSlam than he does in the match between Balor and Rollins for the new title.

It's unlikely many Balor supporters (and those who genuinely dislike Roman Reigns as a top guy in WWE) will agree wholeheartedly with Flair's comments. Most appear to think it was the right call to have Balor go over on his first night with the main roster.
