Beth Pheonix showed she hasn't lost a step in-ring when she appeared in the lead-up to WrestleMania 35 and on the event itself. Natalya was visibly delighted to have an old friend back by her side too. There's a reason for that: Phoenix helped Nattie settle into WWE life during a time when women with her well-muscled look weren't exactly commonplace.

"Fake it 'til you make it" was the cry.

In an interview with Muscle & Fitness, Natalya told how Beth soothed her worries about the influx of bikini models and "skinny" Divas hitting the female ranks in 2007-2009. Natalya was antsy because she didn't fit that mould, and she thought WWE might reject her because of it. Sensing the concern, Phoenix stepped in and offered some sage advice.

Beth's outlook was that the bikini recruitment drive wouldn't last forever. "One day they're gonna' be ready for us", she said, and Nattie never forgot those words. In the end, Phoenix was right. WWE's current policy is to hire women based on talent rather than strictly on appearance.
