4. Jim Cornette Thought Triple H Should Have Been Fired

In May, 1996, both Kevin Nash and Scott Hall were about to leave the then-WWF. As 'Diesel' and 'Razor Ramon' respectively, both men had been cornerstones of the product for years. Behind the scenes, they had also become very good friends with Shawn Michaels and Triple H. At the time, 'The Game' wasn't quite the power player he is today in WWE. Known as 'Hunter Hearst Helmsley', Triple H was little more than a mid card star. Seeking a big farewell moment, HBK, Hunter, Diesel and Razor embraced one another at the end of a house show held in Madison Square Garden. This broke the line between heels and babyfaces, something which infuriated many top ranking officials behind the curtain. The incident has since become known as the 'Curtain Call'. Jim Cornette, working as a manager and official in the promotion at the time, was one of the men left reeling. Telling everyone that he felt Triple H should be fired for his part in the scenario, he also thought Shawn Michaels should have been punished too. Hunter was stripped of his impending 'King Of The Ring' win, but survived being fired. Cornette gave his thought to MLW Radio.
