4. WWE Almost Changed Wrestlemania X Finish Due To Newspaper

The ending to Wrestlemania X, which saw Bret Hart regain the WWF Heavyweight Title after beating the massive Yokozuna, has become an iconic image in WWE folklore. Rushing to the ring to celebrate with the new champion, a host of babyface talent hoisted Hart high up on their shoulders, congratulating him as the cameras stopped rolling in Madison Square Garden. According to Vince Russo, who was a writer for the company at the time, the finish to the event could have been a whole lot different had Vince McMahon not stuck to his guns. Earlier in the day, a newspaper had somehow grabbed hold of the outcome to the show, and published the results. Furious, McMahon and Pat Patterson considered having to change the finish to the event. Fans are credited for forcing WWE to book Daniel Bryan vs. Roman Reigns at the recent Fast Lane event, but outside pressures aren't a new thing for the promotion by the looks of it. What would have happened had management elected to change things up, producing a result no-one expected?
