10 Wrestling Facts We Didn't Know Last Week

9. Rosey Hated 'S.H.*.T' Gimmick

Initially bursting onto the scene as part of the tag-team, '3 Minute Warning, Matt Anoa'i came from a long line of Samoan wrestlers. Related to the likes of Sika and Roman Reigns, the man was also the cousin of his then partner, Eddie 'Jamal' Fatu. It turns out that whilst he loved teaming with his family, he hated the next gimmick that WWE had in store for him. Once 3 Minute Warning disbanded, due to Jamal being released from contract, Anoa'i started teaming with The Hurricane. According to the man himself, he always hated the ring-name 'Rosey', but disliked his 'Super Hero In Training' character even more. Feeling it to be an ill-fit, it's hardly surprising the man didn't take kindly to effectively being called 'S.H.I.T'. During this period, Rosey did go on to become a WWE Tag-Team Champion. However, he quite clearly would have preferred to have such tandem success with Jamal. Eventually, his old partner would return and find fame as 'Umaga', going higher than Rosey ever would in the WWE food chain.
