8. Finn Balor Has Never Been In A Ladder Match
The day before WWE SummerSlam, the NXT roster will present 'TakeOver: Brooklyn'. August 22nd will be a huge evening for all concerned, but none more so that Finn Balor. On the card, the Irishman will clash with Kevin Owens over the NXT Heavyweight Title. The bout is highly anticipated, but Balor is looking forward to it for wholly personal reasons. In a surprising admission, Balor revealed during an interview this week that he has never once competed in a Ladder Match. At TakeOver, he'll do just that against Owens, and it'll mark the first time he has ever worked the stipulation bout. Given that he's a high-flyer by trade, it's shocking that the one-time Fergal 'Prince' Devitt has never been tasked with the ladder gimmick. Admittedly, he previously spent much of his career in Japan. There's not much call for Ladder Matches in the Orient, certainly not in New Japan Pro Wrestling, where Balor worked extensively. WWE therefore can shout from the rooftops about the originality of this match, which isn't something that happens all too often nowadays.
