1. Trish Stratus Refused To Kiss Torrie Wilson Onscreen

By 2002, Trish Stratus had solidified her spot on the WWE Divas roster. Going from little more than eye candy to a legitimate pro wrestler, the Canadian was not adverse to doing whatever was asked of her, within reason. For Stratus, stories had to make sense, otherwise there was no point in doing them. That very mindset led to her being placed in the WWE doghouse in '02. During a typical bikini contest of the time, Trish was asked by writers to kiss Torrie Wilson. The pair hadn't had much interaction with one another for a while, so the act would have been entirely random. Stratus said she'd happily kiss Wilson on the cheek and delight the fans, but didn't see much meaning in a full-blown kiss to the lips. Stephanie McMahon pushed for it to happen, but Trish refused. As a result, Stratus was briefly punished by the promotion, dropping the WWE Women's Title to Victoria at the Survivor Series Pay-Per-View. This was during the period when WWE were fascinated with pushing the envelope, including the 'Hot Lesbian Action' angle, so they didn't understand Trish's refusal.
