2. Michael Hayes' Unique Costume Idea For The Hardyz

In the intro, it was teased that someone had a rather unique idea for The Hardy Boyz towards the start of their run in WWE. That 'someone' was Michael Hayes. He pitched (with a straight face, according to Bruce Prichard's 'Something To Wrestle With' weekly) that Matt and Jeff attach kitchen utensils to their entrance attire.

OK then.

Prichard laughed as he parodied Hayes' big pitch for the cutting-edge brothers to sew knives, spoons and forks onto old duster jackets. Michael's rationale was that, "ain't nobody else gonna' have that". At no point did the former Fabulous Freebirds favourite consider why nobody else had that. To be blunt, it'd look stupid.

Hayes gave up and embraced The Hardyz' late-90s style instead. He wore the baggy cargo jeans, tight tops and skater shoes to the best of his ability, but there's no doubt he was an uncomfortable on screen fit for the young up-and-coming tag-team.
