Way back in December 2016, this article told how Edge and Christian wanted to feud with one another between WrestleMania XXVII and XXVIII in 2011-2012. What we didn't know then is that the pair were actually supposed to reunite their legendary tag-team in 2011 and go on another successful run.

Christian told this story in an interview with WrestleTalk, and said the plan called for Edge to lose his World Title to Alberto Del Rio then get the band back together. Unfortunately, neck injuries and Edge's forced retirement would spoil their plans, and the pair would never get that on screen reconciliation they so craved.

Instead, they had to settle for Edge cheering Christian on against Del Rio at Extreme Rules.

An E&C run in 2011 would've been ideal for teams like The Corre, Air Boom and others that year. The entire division could've done with their experience.
