Ted DiBiase has always been up front and frank about his gratitude towards Vince McMahon. In numerous interviews over the years, a modest DiBiase has claimed that McMahon deserves full credit for the 'Million Dollar Man' character and that he was simply blessed to play it.

DiBiase spoke with The Memorabilia Guy for a new interview this week, and the long-retired wrestling legend lifted the lid on his opinions of the WWF before signing a contract. Knowing the promotion was a large one before putting pen to paper, Ted still wasn't quite sure of the power McMahon had or the grip he held on the rest of the industry.

Remarkably, it was only when DiBiase held his first ever action figure that things started to hit home. Holding the toy in his hands, an astounded Ted could only describe the moment as completely surreal. It's fascinating to think that they did, but action figures helped one of the WWF's biggest stars realise just who was backing him.

DiBiase never imagined he'd have a toy made in his image when he started wrestling. Quickly, he recognised that McMahon had taken over.
