7. Eric Bischoff Regrets Not Trying Another nWo Pay-Per-View

If you're a regular reader of this article, then you'll know all about Eric Bischoff's '83 Weeks' pod. He and co-host Conrad Thompson do weekly deep dives on all things WCW, and there's a keen focus on business talk more than strictly creative chatter. The latest episode, looking at Souled Out 1998, was no different.

Bisch was in a reflective mood.

Souled Out '98 wasn't the same nWo-themed pay-per-view 1997's version had been. That, to Bischoff, was a minor mistake. He wishes he'd tried the (admittedly disastrous) heel stable concept again, albeit with some tweaks to the concepts he'd used one year prior. To him, having another shot at the nWo show gimmick would've made sense.

At the same time, Eric can see why he didn't do it. Souled Out '97 had been such a failure critically that few thought a repeat would work. Now, he's under the impression that an nWo event could've been great with some tinkering.
