5. Rey Mysterio Helped Alberto Del Rio Bed In Backstage
In June, 2010 segments started airing for the imminent live debut of Alberto Del Rio in WWE. Instantly cast as a wealthy, arrogant Mexican aristocrat, Del Rio had one of his first feuds in the company against his fellow countryman, Rey Mysterio. As it turns out, the masked man's important to Alberto didn't cease when the cameras stopped rolling. Talking to Fox Sports Mexico, Del Rio compared Kalisto to Mysterio and said he was keen to help him out as Rey had done for him years earlier. During his early months in the promotion, the Mexican star needed a little help settling in to the way things were done in WWE. It was his masked compatriot who greatly helped introduce him to the right people backstage and aid him in making friends. The pair would feud on and off during the closing years of Mysterio's stint with WWE, and now Del Rio is the main Latino representative in the organisation. He credits Rey for helping his adjust to the WWE system, something he feels was vital to his success in the promotion ever since.
