10 Wrestling Facts We Didn't Know Last Week (June 28)
2. Tommy Dreamer's Frightening 'Mania X-Seven Plan
Prepare to be shocked, and probably appalled.
On his 'House Of Hardcore' podcast, Tommy Dreamer remembered how he thought about killing Paul Heyman at WrestleMania X-Seven before committing suicide. Dreamer, who was totally depressed by the end of the original ECW, was lost in his own mind and not thinking straight.
He seriously considered taking advantage of lax gun laws in Houston, Texas at WWE's biggest annual event after seeing a sign saying, "Guns Welcome" at an earlier event in the area. After that, Dreamer planned to bring a gun to the Astrodome with him, jump the guard rail, pop Heyman (who was announcing) in the back of the head and then shoot himself.
Wow, what an admission, one Tommy says he's ashamed of now. He was in a really dark place, and it took a phone call from Jim Ross to snap him out of it and realise how horrible his idea was. That simple show of support from JR changed everything, and stopped Dreamed from committing an atrocity.
