Minding his own business and writing up notes for that evening's SmackDown show, blue-brand announcer Tazz was approached by the looming presence of Vince McMahon. Acknowledging his boss, the wrestler-turned-commentator asked what he could for McMahon. That's when Vince pitched a match with Brock Lesnar.

Taz (he drops the extra 'z' outside of WWE) said on his podcast that he couldn't really remember the exact timing of this, but he reckons it happened between 2003-2004. Regardless of year, he wasn't interested, and told McMahon that he had long-since decided to hang up the tights.

Vince continued pressing, telling his employee that he'd be willing to pay a lot of money to make it happen. Still, the man once known as the 'Human Suplex Machine' wasn't sold even when finding out that the match would take place in Madison Square Garden.
