Barry Darsow has said before in interviews that he planned for The Repo Man to turn from a villainous sneak into a heroic babyface. It's unclear just how that would have transpired, because the character didn't seem to have any redeeming qualities. As cartoon-like as wrestling gimmicks come, the persona summed up the comic book style of early-1990's WWF perfectly.

Going from the menacing Smash of Demolition to The Repo Man seemed like a demotion, but Darsow has claimed he enjoyed playing the role. He'd have enjoyed it even more had his babyface wished been fulfilled, but Vince McMahon wasn't willing to pull the trigger on such a switch.

Speaking to The Hannibal TV about his career, Darsow said this directly led to him leaving the company. Disappointed over the lack of an alignment change, he fizzled out as The Repo Man and was gone shortly before WrestleMania IX occurred in early-April, 1993.

Wrestling fans would never find out just how The Repo Man could have worked out as a good guy, much to the chagrin of Darsow.
