10 Wrestling Facts We Didn't Know Last Week (Nov 6)

4. Jerry Lawler Doesn't Think About His Legacy

As aforementioned during the intro to this article, Jerry 'The King' Lawler isn't featured as heavily on WWE television as he once was. Ever since suffering a very real heart attack on an episode of Raw in 2012, Lawler hasn't really been used as in-ring performer at all. His commentary work has even taken a dip, and he's no longer part of the flagship broadcast, instead making his home on Smackdown. It's amazing to think that Lawler made his wrestling debut way back in 1970. Since then, he's won a plethora of titles, and been engaged in memorable feuds against everyone from Bret Hart and Andy Kaufman, to Kerry Von Erich and Jackie Fargo. A far cry from the more comedy-laden character he played in the WWF/WWE, Lawler was once infamous for his wild brawling style. Reflecting on his career this week, Lawler says he doesn't do that too often. Instead, he likes to focus on what it in his future, because what has happened in the past is uncontrollable. In terms of leaving a legacy behind him, the wrestler/announcer states that he feels lucky to have experienced all he has, and doesn't think about whether or not he will be remembered.
