10 Wrestling Matches Everybody Wanted (But Nobody Watched)
4. Kurt Angle Vs. Dolph Ziggler - WWE Crown Jewel 2018
There's a weird and almost endearing phenomena in the online wrestling sphere: people trying to manifest matches they really want to see by creating custom graphics on Photoshop. Many are thumbnails for WWE2K recreations of said matches. It is a more committed version of the fantasy booking most fans indulge in on a weekly basis.
At some point or another, probably early mid-2010s when Kurt Angle could last go in IMPACT and when Dolph Ziggler was the internet darling du jour, somebody would have knocked one up for it, possibly with Jake Roberts as the special guest referee (some of these things are absolutely demented, quite frankly).
It's one of the better pitches; both were super worker bumping machines, and the one slightly less known for bumping was far more intense and amazing at making his opponents take bumps. It was sure to be a pulsating collision loaded with dramatic, high-impact tumbles.
Sadly, by the time it happened, it was middling. Angle was beyond thrashed and Ziggler was beyond uninteresting. Ziggler to his credit really tried to make something of it, throwing himself into Angle's German trifecta, but Angle just wasn't the same. In his prime, he used to relish every execution of the move, knowing he was advancing to victory.
Here, he looked like he needed a breather just to get to the next one.
