10 Wrestling Matches That Carried The Highest Stakes

3. Chamber Of Horrors

Ten men entered the Chamber of Horrors match, but only nine would walk about alive. One of them would be dead FOREVER.

At Halloween Havoc '91, Sting, El Gigante, and The Steiner Brothers battled Abdullah the Butcher, The Diamond Studd, Cactus Jack and Vader. These guys hated each other so much that a pinfall would not suffice to end the bout. Oh no. The only way to win the contest was to strap one of your opponents to a damn electric chair and then pull the switch!

As we've seen throughout history, electric chairs are used to kill a person, and not just teach teach someone a little lesson.

This seems reckless for all of the competitors to have willingly signed on for, but we can only assume each was facing extreme financial hardships to put their names on a contract. In the end, it was Abby whose brain was fried for good. He was carted off by some EMTs dressed as ghosts (which seems really unprofessional even if it was a Halloween theme) to be sent to the morgue and subsequently buried. Somehow he survived, and teamed up with Sting the following month at Lethal Lottery... which also sounds a bit dangerous.

Most troubling of all was that Chamber of Horrors OPENED the show. How do you top death live on TV? Well, apparently you do it with a Big Josh and P.N. News match... actually, perhaps death may have been the better way out.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
