10 Wrestling Matches You Won't Believe Have Never Happened In WWE
6. AJ Styles Vs. Rusev
Let's say that Rusev manages to defend the WWE Championship against Shinsuke Nakamura, and is thus forced to defend it against AJ Styles at the next pay-per-view. Rusev vs. AJ Styles would be an immensely popular match in the current climate, and it would have the added advantage of being yet another first time match.
When AJ Styles signed with WWE back in early 2016, Rusev's name was bandied about as one of the many potential dream matches waiting for The Phenomenal One. The Bulgarian Brute was a member of the League of Nations at the time, but was the recipient of a push following the end of that much-maligned group. The draft saw him stationed on RAW, while AJ was one of the major stars on SmackDown Live.
Handsome Rusev moved to SmackDown in the summer of 2017, but the expected push into the main event is still yet to occur. The popularity of Rusev Day is going to be too difficult to ignore as 2018 rolls on, and the former two-time United States Champion is due a full babyface turn. Unless AJ turns heel, this match is likely to remain unseen for a while to come.
