10 Wrestling Themes That Are Actually Good Songs

7. The Honky Tonk Man - Cool, Cocky, Bad

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=akbbvfL74MU He's cool, he's cocky, he's bad and nothing said it more than his rocking old-school, rhythm and blues theme song. This two-minute blast from the past hits all the right notes from its waltzing keyboard flourishes to the call and response backing vocals that permeate its frenzied duration. This frantic little ditty is so well put together in fact that it could very well be considered a great homage to the king himself. Not bad for just being a wrasslin' song then? Honky's voice holds up really well too, sauntering through the slick instrumentation with arrogant ease. Everything brilliant about the character is summed up in this nice little time capsule of a track. Special credit goes to Jimmy Hart and JJ Maguire for penning it too because it has a distinctively vintage sound - one that is rich, vibrant and full of energy. It may be an Elvis impersonation but it's one of the best ones you're likely to hear. The Honky Tonk Man brought the shake, rattle and roll to the wrestling business and with the help of Jimmy Hart, concocted one of the finest wrestling themes of all time in the process.
