10 Wrestling Twitter Feuds You Need To Know About

3. AJ Lee Vs. Stephanie McMahon

When Patricia Arquette used her Best Supporting Actress Oscar acceptance speech to shed light on equal rights for women, Stephanie McMahon was one of the first to say thanks, tweeting the Hollywood star. Former WWE Divas Champion AJ Lee clearly felt that Steph's words were hypocritical, tweeting Vince's daughter: Your female wrestlers have record selling merchandise & have starred in the highest rated segment of the show several times [...] And yet they receive a fraction of the wages & screen time of the majority of the male roster. #UseYourVoice Was this part of a work, the beginning of some elaborate storyline that would culminate in a WrestleMania match between Lee and Stephanie? Steph's cold response of 'Thank you AJ Lee, I appreciate your opinion' seemed to indicate that AJ was in fact going into business for herself and that her tweets were a shoot. #GiveDivasAChance trended worldwide for sometime after AJ's comments (which themselves were retweeted tens of thousands of times). AJ wasn't directly punished for daring to speak out against her superiors but her comments did rub some people, especially Stephanie, the wrong way.
