10 WWE 2016 Spoilers We Already Know

4. Shinsuke Nakamura Will Reintroduce Character To WWE

The lack of characters has hurt WWE programming more than anything over the last handful of years. There has been a movement to introduce more serious wrestlers, who wrestle other serious wrestlers, with a decided lack of character development occurring. In many ways, it is reminiscent of independent wrestling and the desire to be the toughest guy on the roster. The introduction of Shinsuke Nakamura in 2016 will help to reverse that trend. Between the ropes, Nakamura is a fierce competitor, responsible for some of the best matches of the last three years. But he also has a goofiness about him at times, a personality that captures the attention of fans and sucks them in. They invest in him because of the character before them, then cheer wildly at the in-ring action that accompanies it. In the year that is to come, Nakamura will introduce fans to a new breed of professional wrestler and, in the process, may very well change the face of the sport forever.

Erik Beaston is a freelance pro wrestling writer who likes long walks in the park, dandelions and has not quite figured out that this introduction is not for Match.com. He resides in Parts Unknown, where he hosts weekly cookouts with Kane, The Ultimate Warrior, Papa Shango and The Boogeyman. Be jealous.
