10 WWE & AEW Wrestlers Who Have Benefitted From The Empty Arena Era

8. Kenny Omega

Some would have you believe otherwise, but the majority of wrestling fans would agree that Kenny Omega is in contention for the mantle of world’s best, so it’s hardly a surprise that he’s kept up the goods in these difficult times. Few, however, could have seen it going quite this well, especially during the latter months of the pandemic era.

We start, of course, with the Stadium Stampede match, 40 minutes of pure cinematic wrestling joy. Everyone excelled here, but it was Omega’s audacious elevated One Winged Angel that brought the match to an appropriately crazy finish.

His return to singles wrestling, though, has seen Omega turn it up another notch. He brought career best in-ring work out of Jon Moxley to win the AEW World Championship, turning heel in the process and embarking on his deliciously simple and effective belt collector gimmick. Since then he’s brought real prestige to Impact and AAA with cracking bouts against Rich Swann and Fenix.

With the prizing open of the forbidden door, no one has more promise and potential than Omega. Not just a Best Bout Machine, but a Dream Match Machine.
