10 WWE Angles Wrestlers Wish They’d Turned Down

5. Kurt Angle Targets "Bestiality Sex" With Sharmell

Yes, that's what the subheading actually says. No, it's not a typo.

Kurt Angle's 2005 feud with Booker T revolved around the idea that Kurt fancied forcing himself upon Booker's wife Sharmell. If she wasn't into it, Angle claimed, then he'd make it happen. Oh, oh dear. This rapey storyline makes Kurt feel sick when he thinks about it now.

The Olympian told listeners on his podcast that he shouldn't have gone through with some of the promos WWE scripted for him. Phrases like "bestiality sex" have no place on pro wrestling programming, and Kurt bloody knew it. Even so, he admits he never wanted to say no to Vince McMahon's direction or look like anything other than a team player.

Segments like Kurt handcuffing a distressed Sharmell, putting his hand over her mouth as he attempted to have sex with her and other awful scenes are painful to watch. It's not that this angle hasn't aged well in the 16 years since - it's more that it was a bad idea to begin with.
