10 WWE Celebrity Matches That Came So Close To Happening

2. Umaga Vs. The Jackass Cast

This would have been fun had it materialized.

In October 2006 in Los Angeles, Raw had a ‘Raw goes Hollywood’ theme. Kevin Federline, Three 6 Mafia and ZZ Top were some of the stars that made appearances on the show. Jackass stars Steve-O and Chris Pontius appeared in a segment with Umaga that night. It’s memorable for Umaga beating down Steve-O and Pontius only for them to completely no-sell the attack. Neither were fans of wrestling, so they didn’t have the awareness they needed to sell the assault. It ended up with Umaga having to take legitimate shots at Steve-O for him to stay down, with Steve-O recently claiming on the Joe Rogan podcast that Umaga knocked him out for real momentarily.

This was supposed to be the lead-in to the Jackass crew (which would have also included Johnny Knoxville, Ehren McGhehey, Preston Lacy and Wee Man) going against Umaga in a handicap match at SummerSlam. Posters and promos for the match were made, some of which are available to view online.

It never ended up happening due to the negative press the Benoit tragedy brought WWE. Leader of the Jackass crew Knoxville dropped out, with the match then getting scrapped altogether.
