10 WWE Champions That Completely Buried Their Challengers

1. Triple H (Challenger: Randy Orton)

Top of this list due to the sheer quantity rather than quality of Triple H's typically expert 'Game' playing, Hunter's persistent leg-chopping of Randy Orton remains the most transparent reflection of his insecurity as a headline act. Particularly when he was least equipped to carry the load.

Hoofing Randy out of Evolution 24 hours after 'The Legend Killer' won the World Heavyweight Title forced a babyface turn sure to struggle, but taking said strap back three weeks later nailed the lid shut on a coffin already being lowered into the ground.

Orton's suffering in 2004/5 was Dave Batista's gain, but literally nobody benefitted from Triple H's next swings of the hammer in Randy's direction over the next few years.

D-Generation-X routinely embarrassed Rated RKO in 2006, Hunter himself humbled Randy on a night he had to wrestle three times during some hot potato title bullsh*t in 2007, and he won their 2008 feud with ease before inadvertently breaking 'The Viper's collarbone with a throw to the floor. Randy had probably never been so happy to go under the knife, but was right back to business soon enough - a WrestleMania 25 loss against his longstanding nemesis capped off one of the worst main events in the history of the 'Show Of Shows'.
