10 WWE Champions Who Vanished Without A Trace After WrestleMania
8. Seth Rollins - 2024
Seth Rollins walked into WrestleMania 40 as World Heavyweight Champion, but you’d be forgiven for forgetting that. His title defense against Drew McIntyre was overshadowed by CM Punk’s commentary, Damian Priest’s Money in the Bank cash-in, and the chaos of the main event between Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns, which Seth was also part of.
After losing the title, Rollins didn’t just fade into the background, he was gone.
The Visionary had carried the red brand for nearly a year. He was the workhorse champion, defending the title on TV, at house shows, and had a match on both nights of 'Mania before he called it a day after the Show of Shows,
Rumours swirled about injuries and time off, but WWE never addressed it on-screen. Seth was gone, and the World Heavyweight Championship storyline shifted onto the Judgment Day. It turned out Rollins needed surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his knee, that he'd struggled his way through 'Mania with.
Still, it would've been nice to WWE to let the fans know what was happening. For a guy who once called himself The Architect, this was less blueprint and more disappearing act.
