The involvement of Marina Shafir and Jessamyn Duke in Shayna Baszler's clash with Kairi Sane brought another stellar effort between the 2017 Mae Young Classic finalists to a climactic close, with 'The Queen Of Spades' becoming the first two-time holder of one of wrestling's most prestigious titles.

Shayna's a phenom beyond hyperbole in NXT. A vital cog in the TakeOver machine, her matches bring heft to those cards few others do, and her chemistry with sublime babyface Sane was again reflected in a thrilling battle of f*cking good versus f*cking evil.

The tight 12 minutes afforded were all the duo needed to tell a tale already-well told since Shayna's 2017 debut. A brutish bully with a terrifying and tight submission game, Baszler's merciless mantra made life miserable for others in the division until Sane sailed in to save the day earlier this year.

Kairi's convincing pass-out after the numbers overwhelmed her late on was layered with tragedy and asked questions of Baszler's ability to conclusively take her in a fair fight despite her long periods of dominance.

To that end it was yet another match immaculately booked and worked. Evolution indeed.
