10 WWE Gimmick Matches That Totally Sucked

8. Good Housekeeping Match

The Good Housekeeping match from No Mercy 1999 was historic in that it culminated with the coronation of Chyna as the first woman to ever hold the Intercontinental Championship. In that context, it is incredibly important to the legacy of both the title itself and the late performer, whose contributions to the industry are numerous.

On the other hand, though, the match itself was a disaster. So much effort was put into using the household items in order to justify the match concept that it took away from the wrestling itself. Logic was also a major issue in that a pie to the face will not put away a great, multi-time champion like Jeff Jarrett. Odds that it even hurts after all of the !*$%-kickings he endured in WWE, WCW, Memphis and elsewhere are low.

While the contest made sense within the context of the story, it was absurd. Chyna's win rescued it from landing higher on the list, and Jarrett's selling of every "weapon" shot was admirable, but neither could help it overcome its own stupidity.
