For years now, Damien Sandow has been struggling to find his place on the WWE roster. It's sobering to think that it was only in 2013 that he was 'Mr. Money In The Bank', and seemed destined for a run near the top of the card. Instead, the promotion chose to go in a different direction, and Sandow's star has fallen drastically over the past few years. Just months after winning the Money In The Bank contract, Sandow cashed in on Raw and lost to John Cena. From there, he has never really recovered. Stints as a stunt double for The Miz, and as 'Macho Mandow' alongside Curtis Axel have been entertaining, but they don't offer upward mobility. It's fair to say that not every wrestler needs to be in the main event, some are more comfortable outside of it. In the case of Damien Sandow, a return to his 'Intellectual Saviour' gimmick post-team with Axel makes the most sense. With that said, would it be received by fans? WWE have conditioned people to not take Sandow seriously over the past few years.
