As 'Big' Scott Hall and the Diamond Studd, Scott Hall had amassed some decent success for himself before arriving in the World Wrestling Federation in 1992. But once under the wing of Vince McMahon's sports entertainment juggernaut, Hall's stardom went to entirely new levels as Razor Ramon.

All could have been oh so different for the Bad Guy's time in the then-WWF, though.

The original offer on the table for Hall was for him to come into the WWF as a G.I. Joe-inspired character. Hall's father was in the military, and Vince being Vince saw this as the perfect background to utilise in a new wrestling character for this company.

Envisioning a character more inline with his WCW Diamond Studd persona, Hall rejected the G.I. Joe pitch and instead offered up a Scarface-influenced gimmick that would go on to become Razor Ramon. Throwing quotes from Scarface at McMahon, Hall instantly won over his new boss - largely because Vince had never seen Scarface and so thought this was all Scott's own material.

Razor was decided as a nickname of sorts for this character, while Tito Santana offered up Ramon as an authentic Latino last name. Et voila, Razor Ramon was off to the races.
