Why don't WWE push Cesaro?

This was once a question that plagued online wrestling forums, confused by watching a man they'd not only seen prove himself on the independent circuit but also within a complex Sports Entertainment framework during a moderately successful first few years in the company.

Is it still even a question now?

WWE don't push Cesaro because he does just fine for them exactly where he is, knocking out belters with other midcarders and assembling career-salvaging tag teams with the likes of Sheamus and Tyson Kidd. Cesaro has been solider, servant and super-worker, often all at the same time, and during one notable period on NXT. His celebrated 2013/4 run with Sami Zayn birthed brilliant angles and quality matches, and popped the Full Sail crowd because of the pre-existing adoration born on the aforementioned forums.

NXT could be the first weekly WWE product in several generations that gleefully gets by on letting the wrestlers wrestle - there's never been a time for Cesaro's manifold talents to line up as well with a potential push. Similarly, there are few main roster wrestlers showing up there as likely to send the specific target audience into Twitter meltdown as the 'Swiss Superman'.
