10 WWE Money In The Bank Winners & Their King Of The Ring Counterparts

7. Jack Swagger (2010) & Billy Gunn (1999)

At first glance of these two names, the inclination may be to say they were both unsuccessful turning their opportunities into success, but that's not exactly the case.

It is true that Jack Swagger won the Money In The Bank briefcase at WrestleMania XXVI and is currently considered an opening act. It's also true that Billy Gunn never quite made it to the main event of WWE despite winning the 1999 King Of The Ring. But to suggest that neither man had any success following their respective victories would be inaccurate.

Back in 1999, Billy Gunn was a gifted athlete and a WWE veteran of over 6 years that many thought would have an opportunity as a headlining act. Though different stories and rumours exist as to why that never happened, Gunn did follow-up his tournament victory with a high profile match against The Rock at SummerSlam.

Jack Swagger also found success immediately after winning the final WrestleMania edition of the Money In The Bank ladder match. The All-American American cashed in his briefcase on the first SmackDown after WrestleMania XXVI, defeating Chris Jericho to become the World Heavyweight Champion.

Neither man could sustain the immediate success they found following these high profile victories, but they did have a very brief time near the top.
