10 WWE NXT Stars Who Have Been Down In Developmental For 5 Or More Years

9. Steve Cutler

Considering he's been with NXT since June 2014, it's astonishing that Steve Cutler has managed to accomplish almost nothing in that time.

While he isn't terrible in the ring by any means, absolutely nothing stands out as special about him whatsoever. He was positioned as enhancement talent for his first few years with the promotion, and even after aligning with Wesley Blake in late 2016, he continued to serve as a stepping stone for everyone else in the singles and tag team ranks.

The biggest break Cutler has gotten in NXT so far has been as a member of The Forgotten Sons. The trio debuted in 2018 but have shown no signs of development in the ring or as characters. It's possible they may be given a run as NXT Tag Team champions at some point because of how few tandems there are in the division these days, but a main roster call-up almost seems out of the question because of how boring they are together.

Then again, The Ascension made it to the main roster and lasted five years, so perhaps there is hope for Cutler yet.
