6. Backlash
In similar fashion, Backlash works nicely. Unlike Rebellion, most fans of the WWF/WWE are aware of the pay-per-view name. The very first Backlash event took place under the 'In Your House' series in 1999, before doing away with that subtitle and becoming a standalone show the following year. There's a nice ring to the name, it rolls off the tongue extremely well. It also has a threatening vibe to it that only adds intrigue, and is the perfect moniker for an event immediately following what happened at WrestleMania. In many ways, Backlash became a place where feuds from 'Mania could be rekindled and then put to bed, reacting to what had happened on the grand stage. It was ripe for rematches, and whereas it's unlikely WWE will promote a Shane vs. 'Taker retread, the essence of the rivalry could still be there. Shane's problems appear to be mainly with The Authority, so they may want to push for a Backlash after WrestleMania 32. May 1 would be their first pay-per-view opportunity. Admittedly, it's similar in tone to Payback, but there's more history behind Backlash.
