10 WWE Records That Fans Absolutely Hate
4. Roman Reigns Defended The Universal Championship 33 Times
Roman Reigns dominated like nobody before him... to an extent.
During his monumental reign as Universal Champion, Reigns defended the title 33 times. Starting from his victory at Payback 2020, where he defeated "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt and Braun Strowman, Reigns embarked on a reign that would redefine dominance in WWE.
From taking down legends like John Cena and Brock Lesnar to overcoming challengers like Kevin Owens, Daniel Bryan, and Edge, Reigns has faced and defeated them all. His reign wasn't about quantity; it was about quality. Each defence was a statement; a reminder that the Head of the Table was here to stay.
It's just that, when you're holding the title for 1,316 days, 33 defences is a tiny amount.
WWE likes to make a list of the wrestlers that Reigns beat, and it's an incredible bunch of grapplers, but with the Tribal Chief turning up to a few events a year, he put the belt on the line a hell of a lot less than Bruno Sammarino, Hulk Hogan, Bob Backlund, and others who reigned for years.
