10 WWE Releases That Made Absolutely No Sense
4. Emma
Another star who has experienced her fair share of ridiculous releases, Emma - or Tenille Dashwood as she now prefers - has been let go by WWE on two separate occasions and each exit definitely left fans questioning the company's thought process.
Emma was first let go in June 2014 after it was reported that she'd been arrested for supposedly stealing from a Walmart. However, it was soon revealed that she actually forgot to scan and pay for an iPad case, meaning that she was only ordered to perform a day's worth of community service. WWE then quickly sensed they'd made a mistake and decided to reverse their earlier knee-jerk dismissal.
As bizarre as that first release may have been, her second departure was arguably even more so.
Emma had proven to be a solid worker for the company during her time on NXT and the main roster, and it even looked like she was set for a decent push in 2017 after being repackaged as 'Emmalina' and then strangely restored to 'Emma'.
Yet, not long after battling against WWE's newest star Asuka, Emma was shockingly given the boot in October of that year amid rumours that she'd generated some dreaded 'backstage heat' due to her Twitter activity.
Though WWE's roster boasted the likes of Asuka, Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, Sasha Banks, Bayley and Alexa Bliss at this time, Emma still could've gone on to become a marketable star for the company and her strong run outside of WWE only highlights how short-sighted McMahon and co were to let her go.
