10 WWE Releases That Made Absolutely No Sense

5. Serena Deeb

Though there's an argument to be made that former WWE wrestler and Performance Center coach Serena Deeb's most recent departure could have most likely been avoided, it was her first release from the company that truly made absolutely no sense.

Arriving on the scene in January 2010 as an 'audience member' who was swiftly inducted into CM Punk's Straight Edge Society after agreeing to have her head shaved in the middle of the ring, Serena appeared alongside the villainous Punk, Luke Gallows and later Joey Mercury for months.

However, her time with the S.E.S. and WWE would eventually come to an end in August of that year for the most peculiar of reasons.

The company decided that they weren't happy with the fact that Serena hadn't been living her on-screen straight edge gimmick in real life as the star had been spotted drinking and partying in public. So, they essentially fired the 24 year-old for breaking kayfabe.

At a time when kayfabe was pretty much dead, the reasons behind this release made very little sense at all as most WWE performers during this period didn't exactly live and breath their characters outside of the squared circle.

On the bright side, with Deeb making quite an impact during her recent appearance on an episode of AEW Dynamite, her days of being suddenly released by Vince McMahon's promotion seem to be firmly behind her.
