10 WWE Returns We Can Expect For 2018
2. Daniel Bryan
Daniel Bryan is a true enigma in WWE right now. A man that loves wrestling and is not afraid to show it, Daniel Bryan is a rare example of someone with nothing to lose and everything to gain when his contract expires in 2018.
Bryan has stated on countless occasions his desire to wrestle again and has even been cleared to do so by his own doctors. However, he has crucially yet to be cleared by WWE's medics, which presents an interesting scenario heading into contract negotiations next year.
If the former WWE Champion truly wishes to wrestle again, he can leave WWE and ply his trade elsewhere. GFW, New Japan, or even Ring of Honor would undoubtedly welcome him with open arms and an open cheque book.
If WWE want to keep him, they will have to grant him permission to wrestle - sporadically at the very least. Brie Bella has mentioned that Bryan has undergone 40 alternate therapies in his pursuit of cognitive recovery and DB believes he is healthy. His two year rest will only strengthen that belief.
Having to watch his peers perform from his current position as SmackDown GM must be eternally frustrating for Bryan, considering his passion for the sport. If WWE don't rethink their stance on allowing him to perform, 'The American Dragon' could fly the nest.
