10 WWE Slammy Award Winners That Must Happen

4. Alberto Del Rio (Surprise Return Of The Year)

Alberto Del Rio's return cooled off significantly following Hell In A Cell. An association with Zeb Colter didn't feel too special, but WWE have made steps to rectify the situation by putting him in the League Of Nations. The 'Mex-America' angle with Colter has apparently been put to bed, but it cannot be denied that the writing team dropped the ball with Del Rio shortly after his comeback. This category includes some strong candidates. Chris Jericho's return to team with Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose at Night Of Champions is perhaps the weakest. Joining that is Kane's showing from the same pay-per-view, stopping Sheamus from cashing in 'Money In The Bank' on Seth Rollins. One of the better ones was Sting's return in August, posing as a statue meant to be unveiled to Rollins. That, along with the return of The Dudley Boyz and Del Rio's comeback are the strongest nominees. The Mexican must surely take the Slammy however, he makes the most sense. The United States Champion looks like he will be given some ample promo time going forward, and this could be another chance to exploit his recent character developments.
